Gasabo 3D emerges as one of top 100 Rwandan Mid sized companies in 2013

Gasabo 3D emerged for the second time running as one of the top 100 Rwandan midsized companies. An annual survey carried out by Rwanda Development Board (RDB), audit firm KPMG and media firm Rwanda Today placed Gasabo 3D as the among Rwanda’s top small& medium enterprises(SMEs). The survey ranks SMEs in terms of revenue growth and returns to shareholders. Companies making on top of this survey are also likely to have succeeded in progressively growing its market position in the sector in which it operates.

The purpose of the annual survey is to identify and recognize Rwanda’s fastest growing medium-sized companies in order to showcase business excellence and highlight the country’s most successful entrepreneurship stories. Gasabo 3D, the only design services company that participated in the survey , scooped the 8th position.

John Rugamba, the Managing Director of Gasabo 3D, while accepting the recognition remarked; “It is very encouraging to be recognized as one of the emerging firms in the economy. The recognition gives us optimism to aim for higher scores next year.” Talking about the outcome of top 100 SMEs survey, Vivian Kayitesi, Head of Investment Promotion and Implementation at RDB said that RDB is keen to promote the development of SMEs in the economy and one way of doing that is to carry out an annual survey that recognizes outstanding SMEs. John Ndunyu, the KPMG country manager revealed that the 2013 edition of the Annual Top 100 Rwandan SMEs survey attracted over 280 entries which is an increase from previous year’s 177 entries.

He also mentioned the criteria used to rank the participants of the survey and the ratios used to list the winners such as liquidity ratios, revenue growth ratios among others. The award ceremony which took place at the Serena Hotel Kigali saw other special categories of entries being awarded such as woman entrepreneur and young entrepreneur of the year. Josphat Mwaura, the Chief Executive Officer of KPMG East Africa thanked participants and urged more companies to take part in the next edition of the survey.
